Ottone Rosai paints Florence. In his paintings we find everything the city offers: light and shadow, squares and streets, people and empty spaces, sounds and silences. The design for the exhibition of one of his works must take these factors into the consideration and possibly remember them. The visitor, along the exhibition route leading to the painting, is transported back to Florence and relives the city’s sensations: movement is suggested by a single stone wall that never seems to end; the light filtering through the cornices of the houses becomes a crack in the roof; the noises of the people are always present and guide us towards our destination; new viewpoints open up along our path.
